Alberto Garcia took the first national in Sevilla
Last weekend was the first of four rounds (3 to count) of the Spanish national Championships, held in the city of Sevilla in the south of Spain.
The track is situated near the city centre and is actually a 1/8 offroad gas track. This means loads of rocks, huge jumps and a lot of bumps. With temperatures rising to 29° at this time of the year this was a real test for the A-one in very hard and challenging conditions.
The aero team was present at this race to support their Spanish team driver Alberto Garcia. We were welcomed by all the friendly Spanish drivers. It was a nice opportunity to meet new people in a great atmosphere!
After some testing on Friday, the 4wd race was to be held on Saturday and 2wd on Sunday.
After the first round Alberto tq’d and was very happy with the car. He showed this by winning the second , third and fifth qualifying heat, which gave him the overall pole position.
There are 5 qualifying heats and all the finals are run 3 times. After a nice and clean drive in the first final Alberto did a superb job by also winning the second final. As the fight was still open for 2nd position because there were 2 drivers with the same amounts of points Alberto decided not to run the 3rd final.
This was a really hard test for the A-one, with very high temperatures and hard conditions at the 1/8 scale track. The car performed perfectly as did Alberto. By this way we want to congratulate Alberto again with his superb win at his first race. Great job!
